Chris Cieslak
Chris Cieslak serves as Chief Operating Officer and Vice President of Programs for Green Building Alliance (GBA), advancing its mission to transform the built environment. She leads strategy and implementation for key initiatives, including workforce development, sustainable and resilient communities, and 2030 Districts, while providing technical guidance on building- and district-scale projects to achieve measurable sustainability outcomes.
Since joining GBA, Chris has led initiatives across Western and Central Pennsylvania, working with municipalities, schools, nonprofits, and private-sector partners. Her work has supported more than 1,300 buildings—representing 135 million square feet—in advancing decarbonization and energy performance goals. In Pittsburgh, these efforts contributed to a more than 50% reduction in carbon emissions among participating commercial and nonprofit property owners.
Previously, Chris managed complex capital projects spanning professional sports venues, educational facilities, and cultural institutions. She brings extensive experience engaging diverse audiences on high-performance building, decarbonization policy, and resilient infrastructure. Chris holds a BS in Civil Engineering from Pennsylvania State University and is a decorated Army Reserve veteran.
