Eligible organizations are invited to learn more and assess their fit for the Powered & Prepared Initiative.

Before submitting an application, participants must complete registration no later than 5:00 PM Eastern Time on Wednesday, August 26, 2026.

Applications will be accepted for approximately three weeks after registration has closed. All applications are due no later than 5:00 PM Eastern Time on Thursday, September 17, 2026.

During mid-September through mid-October, the Powered & Prepared Initiative team will review each submission to ensure it complies with application requirements and Rules.

During this period, the Evaluation Panel will score and provide feedback on their assigned submissions using the scoring rubric (scores are normalized for fairness).

Informed by the Evaluation Panel, the Selection Committee will choose up to 15 Awardees, who will each receive $300,000 to purchase backup power generation.

Up to 15 Awardees will be announced by Spring 2027, along with the launch of an online searchable database of applications that will be shared with other funders and/or government agencies.
